This is the first song I wrote for this band. I was staying with some friends in Phoenix, thinking of a person I had met back home before I left. I was feeling pretty depressed and at that moment she represented everything I wanted to be but was not - courageous, dedicated, self-sufficient. I felt that we shared the same ideas about the cruelty of this world, but she did something about it and I did not. It was a feeling of worthlessness and awe, not a good combination. At least it resulted in this song.

Här växer hjärtan som bara kan hata. Svullna magar som ingen vill mata. Vi stänger gränser och skickar tillbaka små barn som ingen kommer att sakna. Himlen är röd och regnar blod men det växer träd där du just stod. Alla lik blir till bördig jord. Ge mig ditt hopp ge mig ditt mod. I mitt hjärta växer frön av hopp men mitt sympatiska nervsystem sätter stopp. Omfördelningar sker i mitt blodomlopp. Världen kramar syret ur min kropp. Ibland vill jag förlora min känsel. Tappa bort mig i köplust och trängsel. Men jag vet att det inte hjälper någon annan än mig själv
